Though it is no secret to many of my early readers, Girlish Writings in the past 4 years has transformed quite a bit from what it was when I started it. What once was an insignificant blog written exclusively by me on tumblr has now become a beautifully designed (Thanks Colourful Carla!) online magazine featuring the ideas and work of many!
I'm so proud to say, thanks to my fellow Girlish Writers, that although Girlish Writings has had many physical changes, the meaning and purpose of the blogzine continues to stay the same: a site where young women can freely reveal their dreams, thoughts and experiences in hopes to inspire others to do the same. With that being said however, I've also realized that the content, style and abundance of MY Own articles is not what it used to be.
Back in 2009 and 2010 I was a lost 19 year old girl in college who passionately, actively, and constantly posted a variety of articles in which I could freely express myself. Fast forward to now and I have regrettably neglected this site; only publishing and editing my fellow girlish writers great work and throwing a few of my own posts out here and there.
Believe me, I wish I could say this neglect was for valid reasons, like spending all of my downtime job hunting, becoming a major socialite or working my life away saving an abundance of money, but that would be far from the actual truth. The fact of the matter is that in the last couple of years I had become a person who valued the opinions of others. Thus, I disregarded my own needs and happiness, changed my priorities and became an insecure woman who repeatedly and anxiously second guessed herself. To put it brief I wasn't happy with who I was or what I had and it affected my attention to Girlish Writings.
